About

This page is the home of my Serrano pepper plants.

All of the pictures were taken at 1600x1200 and 16bit color. The pictures on the page have been reduced to 1/8 and linked to the full sized picture which is a much bigger download (~400KB). I've provided them for people with faster connections or those that are trying to help me identify things of note.

DATE: July 29th, 2003. Here is my serrano garden (8 plants) that the previous home owner planted for me.
DATE: July 29th, 2003. Here's a shot of the back right corner from the left side. This plant is all dwarfy but its producing so I'm not going to complain much.
DATE: July 29th, 2003. Here's a closeup of the pods hanging from the bottom of the front left plant. Many of the pods are corking.
DATE: Aug. 7th, 2003. Here's a closeup of the pods hanging from the bottom of the front left plant. Many of the pods are corking and one is mature.
DATE: Aug. 7th, 2003. Here's a closeup of one of the pods that was left hanging for dead on one of my plants. I'm not sure what pest is doing this but I've lost two other bigger pods like this on one of the other plants.
DATE: Aug. 7th, 2003. Another angle of the above.
DATE: Aug. 12th, 2003. My first harvest of ripe serranos. Yeah I know its not a lot yet but they're being stored in the fridge while some more mature.
DATE: Aug. 12th, 2003. Another angle (moved the beer cap too). I wonder what I'll do with them. Probably salsa since I want to make some and I don't have jalapenos.
DATE: Aug. 17th, 2003. This is the same garden as the one in the picture all the way at the top of this page. My how its grown.
DATE: Aug. 18th, 2003. After seeing some strange blossoms posted on a forum I decided to look for similar things in my garden. Since I have 8 serrano plants I decided that would give me better odds of finding anomolies. Here is a 5 petal blossom.
DATE: Aug. 18th, 2003. Here is a 6 petal blossom on the same plant as the 5 petal one above. Nothing too strange about that.
DATE: Aug. 18th, 2003. And here we have a 7 petal blossom on the same plant. Didn't take me long to find these oddities in my garden.
DATE: Aug. 18th, 2003. Another shot of the same 7 petal blossom. I'm still hoping to find an 8 petal flower.
DATE: Aug. 30th, 2003. A lot of green pods on the plant in the front, right of my garden. These pods are from the second bloom.
DATE: Aug. 30th, 2003. Here's a bunch more pods on the plant to the left of the previous one.
DATE: Aug. 30th, 2003. Another shot of the two of them together.
DATE: Sept. 19th, 2003. A shot of the garden after Hurricane Isabel came through.
DATE: Oct. 12th, 2003. A shot of some pods both ripe and unripe.
DATE: Oct. 12th, 2003. Another shot.
